It’s been rumored for some time, but we may finally have our first look at Amazon’s latest Echo with a touchscreen built in thanks to a newly leaked photo.
The device (which if we had to bet, will likely be called the Echo Touch) seemingly sports a 7-inch touchscreen that is housed in an enclosure that is angled upwards; intended so the screen will be easy to see when looked at from above. The image also gives us a look at the interface, which may be based on Amazon’s Fire OS, a custom version of Google’s Android mobile operating system.
The leak comes from AFTV News, who also discovered the newly released Echo Look camera before it was announced. And like the Echo Look, it appears that this device also includes a camera at the top of the touchscreen. Below the screen you can clearly see an outlined speaker grill, which will reportedly produce better sound than the current Echo.
The device, code named “Knight”, is expected to be the flagship Echo product, and is rumored to be launching at the end of this month. AFTV News speculates it could cost between $200-$300 when it officially goes on sale.
Update: evleaks has released a high resolution photo of the device in white which gives a much clearer look at the device.
