Nest has announced that their video doorbell product, the Nest Hello, has been delayed until March. It was originally scheduled to ship next month.
Multiple customers who pre-ordered the device received emails stating that the company would now be shipping in March. The reason for the delay was not announced.
The device was announced back in September, and is now showing for pre-order on the Nest website for March delivery. The reason for the delay could be that Nest just needs more time to get the device ready, which will likely please competing doorbell maker Ring.
The Nest Hello will feature 1080p 4:3 HD video with HDR, 160° field of view, pre-recorded quick responses, and more. It will retail for $229, $20 less than Ring’s pro model version of their doorbell.
